Disaster Relief Interim Housing

11th March 2011
The Teemore House
Interim housing solutions are essential for post disaster and emergency housing situations in order to help to rebuild a nation struck by such devastating effects.

The Teemore House is an interim housing solution particularly for these disaster and emergency housing situations where entire communities have been devastated and, in some cases, millions have been left homeless or displaced.

Re-establishing a whole community for those affected by natural disasters is a lengthy, chaotic and expensive process.

The Teemore presents the opportunity for a medium to long term housing solution for a family of four or six, extendable up to 10 people. It could also be used as a community building such as a medical centre or school. Once the units have exceeded their initial use for temporary housing they can be dismantled and relocated to be rebuilt in another area or the materials used in a rebuild situation.

Safe and secure accommodation is essential for a family to regain a sense of normalcy and to have a platform to rebuild their previous daily activities and responsibilities. This fully insulated timber structure can be provided with many available optional extras to allow a family to attempt to achieve this in a post disaster situation. (See below for options)
Providing sustainable interim housing is in constant need due to the unpredictable nature and uncontrollable effects of extreme weather conditions and natural disasters, such as today’s devastating events in Japan and the Pacific Region.
